Herbalism

Herbalism in essence is Plant Medicine. While Herbalists are individuals whom practice the art of Plant Medicine, this can include planting to promote plant diversity in an ecosystem, planting and harvesting, consciously foraging, medicine making, teaching, coaching others how to incorporate natural elements including plants to support health and wellness, the list goes on and on!

Western Clinical Herbalism, (in which I am trained) is the practice of therapeutically educating and tending to clients from a health and holistic perspective. We practitioners, believe in working with our client with the understanding and approach that the client is the expert of their ailments and together we decode and discover where there is misalignment (body, mind and spirit). Finally, we collaborate in designing an action plan, to bring the body back into balance. All of which is done through herbal support, life style adjustments, nutrition and education.

Herbal supports exists to provide individuals the option of choice. To empower each individual to take their health into their own hands and pursue healing modalities that resonate with them, the expert.

Clinical Herbalists DO NOT offer diagnoses! If you have health concerns or are experiencing life threatening symptoms, please see your doctor immediately or call 911.

There are many different approaches to herbalism. That said, I work very closely with the whole body as an ecosystem, and deal with the plants on a very intimate level. This approach and relationship I have with the plants is referred to as Intuitive Plant Medicine, also known as Sacred Plant Medicine, in which I have training, certification and more importantly- experience. I work closely with flower and land essences, Earth and Plant Medicines as well as energetics, ceremony and ritual. I have grown to recognize that the lost language of nature is not only partially preserved in Native cultures (which I have long studied), but in the land itself! These precious teachings can truly be rediscovered through our own experiences and time spent with Mother Earth. For me, reconnecting with the plants, and the wilderness as a whole, tuned me into this earthly database of knowledge, connection, meaning and ultimately, exposed my life’s purpose.

Practicing herbalism is not for everyone! But I do believe herbal remedies are appropriate for everyone on our individual  healing journeys. I feel it is our birth right to work alongside mother nature in a harmonious, respectful, and reciprocal manner, to fuel and heal one another. After all, we are all children of this earth as much as any other being. We are not separate, nor are we superior, but all one in the great web of life.

Lastly, I love incorporating horses in human healing. Horses are great facilitators and are even more powerful spiritualists and empaths. With the help of the Equine Facilitators, and earth medicines such as, plant medicine, energetics, land medicines and nutrition, true healing can begin to occur.
