Carrera is my mothers 13 yo TB mare, who she bought off of the rescuer in September.

Carrera was rescued in March by this amazing woman and her family. She was going to be sold for meat but because she was neglected for years, they wouldnt have made much money off of her any way. Laura (the rescuer) purchased Carrera for her meat price and began the rehabilitation process. Unfortunately, she ran across one farrier after another who struggled with the severity of Carrera's condition and in turn inadvertently allowed her to reach such a chronic point.

In October we had Carrera's feet x rayed because she has been struggling with founder and a degree of rotation for nearly a year now, unresolved.

Through this x ray we were able to see the degree of her rotation she has endured, nevermind the ways in which the feet themselves were maintained etc. My mother and I were in complete shock and were horrified that we may have to put this mare down. That was when I saught out the guidance of my Equi Bow instructors. They recommended their farrier, who also instructs a portion of the Equi Bow, Called the Balanced Hoof series. He came out and was able to trim off her excess toe, but do so on all four feet! We now have frog supports on her to help support the skeleton and take some of the pressure off of her sole. And we have been walking a lot better!!!!!! And she is still eating like a P.I.G
