Carrera and James

Today our farrier, James came to work with Carrera and assess her progress. I was so worried because Carrera has (as always) taken 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. James felt confident that we are over the hurdle of life or death and now just facing our healing journey and praying the hoof regrows properly.
What i personally am struggling with is how the heck can a horse founder in only ONE foot?!
But I learned today that Carrera had a crack in her hoof that affected the cornet band in early 2014! OUCH!!! What a fighter this girl is.
James trimmed off some excess toe and her hoof now is beginning to look half normal.
She is still on her sole but as i have mentioned before we keep a frog support on her and change it daily!!!
Holy Heck i can not stress enough what a life saver these frog suppots have been!!!!(Equi-Life TLC frog supports- incase any one thinks they may be helpful)
